Will is the News Director for NWKS Radio, as well as Corporate News Director for all of Rocking M Radio. He can be heard weekdays on the Today In Kansas Report plus on a number of other station projects. Will’s career began at KWIX/Moberly, MO and includes experience as Program Director at Westwood One’s Hot AC & Oldies formats, providing programming to radio stations nationwide. He’s also anchored newscasts at the CNN Radio Network, WLW/Cincinnati, KTRH/Houston, KCMO/Kansas City, and KRLD/Dallas. Will anchored network coverage of the Virginia Tech shootings and the death of Gerald Ford, covered Hurricane Gustav in New Orleans and Hurricane Ike in Houston, and won the broadcast news business’ highest award, the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Large Market Newscast, in 2013. He’s glad to be in Northwest Kansas, an area he’s enjoyed visiting several times over the years.
In his spare time, Will enjoys going on roadtrips, watching sports, listening to music, and surfing the internet. You can usually catch him rooting for the Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Rams, Iowa State Cyclones, and Winnipeg Jets. He eats far more pizza than dieticians would recommend, and feels no shame in admitting he likes Soft Rock and Elevator music – in addition to constantly looking for sounds he hasn’t come across before.
