Colby Police release information on Colby High School lockdown

The following is a press release from the City of Colby Police Department regarding the lockdown that occurred at Colby High School on November 7, 2017.

At approximately 11:28am on November 7, 2017 the Colby Police Department was called to the Colby High School for a disruptive student making threats.  The school advised that they had already taken precautions and placed the campus on lock down.  Upon arrival, officers were able to isolate the student and resolve the situation.  The student was taken into protective custody and was transported to Citizens Medical Center for an assessment.

No weapons were involved in the incident.  No students or faculty were injured in the incident.  Charges pertaining to the incident will be forwarded to the Thomas County Attorney for review.

In order to protect the rights of the individual, no other information is being released at this time.
